9/30/2026 - Willonda McCloud (Core 2009) named as YWCA Lancaster's Incoming CEO
Congratulations to YWCA and Willonda McCloud!
The Board of Directors of YWCA Lancaster is pleased to announce the selection of Willonda McCloud as the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer. McCloud will lead YWCA Lancaster in advancing its mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
McCloud brings more than 25 years of progressive nonprofit leadership experience directing mission-driven organizations, building teams, and creating lasting community impact throughout Lancaster County and Pennsylvania. She is recognized for transforming ideas into sustainable programs through strategic partnerships, innovative fundraising, sound financial stewardship, and collaborative leadership.
Since 2016, McCloud has served as President and CEO of Bright Side Opportunities Corporation, where she has provided executive leadership for one of Lancaster’s leading community-based nonprofit organizations. Under her leadership, the organization has served more than 5,000 residents annually through youth development, STEM education, workforce development, health and wellness, food security, and family support initiatives.
Her extensive experience working with the Lancaster County Human Relations Commission, government agencies, foundations, school districts, healthcare organizations, and elected officials positions her well to guide YWCA Lancaster into its next chapter of service and impact. Throughout her career, McCloud has demonstrated a deep commitment to expanding opportunities for women, children, families, and underserved communities.
The Board conducted a thoughtful and comprehensive national search for the organization’s next leader with the support of Samaritan Consulting. McCloud’s record of strategic leadership, community engagement, organizational growth, and mission-centered service distinguished her as the right leader to carry YWCA Lancaster’s work forward.
McCloud will succeed Stacie Blake, who resigned after seven years of service to YWCA Lancaster and will coordinate a smooth transition with McCloud who will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer on January 4, 2027.

Leadership Lancaster is thrilled to announce an exciting new opportunity for its Core Class graduates. Participants who successfully complete the Core Class program will earn three academic credits at Elizabethtown College and Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC). This milestone reflects Leadership Lancaster’s commitment to fostering lifelong learning and professional development.
For over four decades, Leadership Lancaster has equipped individuals with the knowledge, connections, and confidence to lead in their communities. This new partnership with Elizabethtown College and HACC reinforces the value of the Core Class experience by recognizing the skills, leadership training, and civic engagement graduates gain throughout the program.
“At Leadership Lancaster, we believe in the power of continuous growth and upskilling. Leadership is a lifelong journey, and this collaboration ensures that our graduates have a tangible academic benefit in addition to the invaluable connections and insights they gain through the Core Class,” said Jennifer Diaz, Executive Director of Leadership Lancaster. This immersive, nine-month program is designed for individuals who are ready to expand their leadership capacity, engage deeply with Lancaster County’s most pressing issues, and make a lasting impact.
SPRING 2026 - Leadership Lancaster Launches Encore Academy Pilot
Leadership Lancaster is announcing the pilot launch of Encore Academy, a new leadership development initiative designed for retirees who want to stay engaged, share their wisdom, and remain part of community solutions in Lancaster County.
Encore Academy is built on a simple belief: leadership doesn’t end—it deepens. The pilot expands Leadership Lancaster’s commitment to a continuum of leadership development available at every stage of life, creating pathways for continued learning, connection, and civic engagement.
To introduce Encore Academy to the community, Leadership Lancaster will host an information breakfast on Tuesday, February 11 at 9:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Chamber, 115 East King Street, Lancaster, PA. Attendees will learn about the pilot program’s goals, structure, and opportunities for participation and partnership. Attendance at the breakfast is not required to register for Encore Academy; interested individuals may register for the course even if they are unable to attend the breakfast.
“Lancaster County benefits when retirees remain connected and invested in community solutions,” said Jennifer Diaz, Executive Director of Leadership Lancaster. “Encore Academy creates space for continued leadership, meaningful contribution, and cross-generational connection—at a moment when leadership is needed more than ever.”
